Break away from Mill Avenue and Tempe Town Lake for an off-road desert adventure. Our ATV tours run just 35 minutes north of Tempe through the Tonto National Forest.
Tempe sits at the heart of the Phoenix metro area, home to Arizona State University, the vibrant Mill Avenue entertainment district, and Tempe Town Lake. It's a city buzzing with energy — college football games, concerts at Tempe Beach Park, and a thriving food and nightlife scene. But for those looking to experience the raw beauty of the Arizona desert, Phoenix ATV Adventures offers guided ATV tours just 35 minutes north of Tempe in the foothills near Cave Creek. Whether you're a college student looking for a weekend thrill, an ASU parent visiting for a game, or a conference attendee at one of Tempe's hotels, our tours deliver an authentic desert experience that you can't get anywhere in the city. The contrast between Tempe's urban energy and the quiet power of the Sonoran Desert makes for a memorable day — especially when you're navigating trails that wind past ancient saguaros, through desert washes, and up into the foothills with views stretching across the entire Valley.
Tempe visitors love our tours because they offer a total change of pace from the city. College students and recent grads come to us for bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, and weekend adventures — it's the kind of experience that becomes the highlight of every group trip. Conference and business travelers staying near Tempe Town Lake appreciate that they can fit a guided ATV tour into a half-day and still make their evening events. Families visiting ASU students find it's the perfect activity that everyone can enjoy together. And Tempe locals who've lived in the Valley for years are often amazed that this kind of wild desert terrain exists so close to home. The accessibility from Tempe — a straightforward 35-minute drive up the freeway — means there's no logistical barrier to adding a desert adventure to any Tempe itinerary.
