Trade Mesa's urban landscape for the wild Sonoran Desert. Our guided ATV tours take you through Tonto National Forest trails just 40 minutes from downtown Mesa.
Mesa, Arizona's third-largest city, sits on the eastern edge of the Phoenix metro area where the Valley meets the rugged Superstition Mountains. While Mesa offers plenty to do — from spring training baseball to the Arizona Museum of Natural History — many visitors and locals are surprised to learn that world-class ATV trails are just a short drive north. Phoenix ATV Adventures operates guided tours through the Sonoran Desert near Cave Creek, offering Mesa residents and visitors an easy escape into the wild. The drive from Mesa takes you across the Valley and into the desert foothills, where paved roads give way to trails winding through saguaro forests, rocky canyons, and desert washes. Our tours range from beginner-friendly rides to more challenging terrain for experienced riders, making it a perfect outing for families, couples, or groups of friends looking for something beyond the usual Mesa attractions.
Mesa residents and visitors love our tours because they offer a completely different side of Arizona. While the east Valley is known for spring training, golf, and the gateway to the Superstitions, the north Valley desert terrain near Cave Creek provides a distinct desert experience — wider open spaces, classic Sonoran Desert vegetation, and trails that wind through the foothills of the Tonto National Forest. For families staying in Mesa during spring training season, an ATV tour is the perfect way to fill a non-game day with adventure. Corporate groups based in the Mesa/Gilbert area find that the 40-minute drive is well worth it for a team-building experience their employees talk about for months. And for Mesa locals, our tours are an easy half-day escape that feels like a weekend getaway.
