You're already in the heart of ATV country. Our tours launch right here in Cave Creek, with direct trail access to the Tonto National Forest and pristine Sonoran Desert.
Cave Creek is where the city ends and the desert begins. This small, unincorporated town north of Phoenix has fiercely preserved its Western heritage — dirt roads, hitching posts, horseback riders on the main drag, and saloons with live country music. It's also the gateway to some of the finest desert terrain in the Southwest, with the Tonto National Forest beginning at the edge of town and stretching north for over 2.8 million acres. Phoenix ATV Adventures is proud to call Cave Creek home. Our tours operate right in the heart of this landscape, giving riders direct access to trails that wind through saguaro forests, across rocky creek beds, up desert ridgelines, and into hidden valleys that most visitors to Arizona never see. There's no long drive to get to the desert here — you're already in it. Cave Creek's unique position at the transition zone between the upper Sonoran Desert and the Tonto National Forest means our trails offer some of the most diverse and dramatic terrain available for ATV riding anywhere in the Phoenix region.
Cave Creek visitors love our tours because they're the most authentic desert ATV experience in the area — and the most convenient. Guests staying at local resorts like The Boulders or CIVANA in neighboring Carefree can be on the trails within minutes of leaving their hotel. The landscape around Cave Creek is what most people picture when they imagine the Arizona desert: massive saguaro cacti silhouetted against mountain ridges, red-tailed hawks circling overhead, and trails that feel genuinely remote despite being so close to the Phoenix metro area. Local Cave Creek residents take pride in this landscape and many ride with us regularly, bringing visiting friends and family for what they consider the essential Cave Creek experience. The small-town western atmosphere of Cave Creek itself adds to the adventure — many guests start or end their day with lunch at one of the local saloons before or after their ride.
